This was the first news!! and you thinking what about second news..? right…
So second news for Chennai If you are one of those who craves street food, and if you wanna find freshly grilled kebabs and the wafting aroma of hot buttered pav-bhaji irresistible, then flap your wings and fly across to ‘Spoonbill Resto-Cafe’ -named after the owners’ love for bird-watching…
This cafe just launched before few days for you, whenever you will go to Chennai then you try it for street food. This hot new food destination is all about getting smart about street food. The simplistic décor and lighting spell out the fact that this is one place with no frills attached. It’s all about the cake, not the icing. The same simplicity is echoed in the concise menu. The street-facing, large glass windows let in streams of daylight, adding brightness and cheer to this resto-cafe.
Your options include wafer thin crepes with the choice of a savoury (chicken, tuna, cheese, ham, mushrooms, spinach) or a sinfully sweet filling (strawberries, chocolate, kiwi or mango) with oodles of freshly whipped cream. Go for the char-grilled sausages German style: bratwurst or tangy currywurst served with mustard. If kebabs are your weakness, try the doner kebab or shwarama with flavoured yogurt dressing.
For the die-hard desis there’s keema-pav or pav-bhaji. Shavings of peanuts, coconut, cheese and slivered green chillies add the twist to this humble dish. Mull over cups of steaming coffee or linger over frothy milkshakes and cold coffee. The frughurts on the menu win hands down: hung yogurt blended with fruit juice and fruit puree to thirst quenching perfection!
This cool hangout for the young and swish set, is undoubtedly bound to inspire bird-watching of a different kind…
